In practice

The reject loop of a partner datacenter yields 1.4 MW per hour. One block of CloudBoiler-wired households absorbs 62% of that in winter, 18% in summer; the remainder recirculates or vents.

Four moves. Instrumented end-to-end.

The protocol CloudBoiler is less a product than a protocol: capture at source, route across the local grid, deliver into the household, hold a performance SLA. Each step is instrumented end-to-end.
01 Capture

Pulled off compute at source

Direct thermal tap off the datacenter's existing reject loop. No pressure change downstream — the server never knows.
02 Route

Grid-aware distribution

Load-balanced across pilot neighborhoods based on real-time household demand and compute availability. Insulated and metered line, buried, no overhead.
03 Deliver

Into the household, five ways

Space heating, water heating, dehumidification, drying, pool and hot tub. One handoff, five downstream loads, branch-level isolation.
04 Hold

Instrumented, SLA-backed

Every node reports every minute. 99.1% uptime held across three cohorts; same-day truck roll on anything the telemetry flags.

How a 40-home cul-de-sac stopped burning gas.

Worcester is cold. For the 40 households on Birch Hollow, winter meant a $280 median gas bill, two breakdowns a decade, and a water heater that ran out mid-shower. The street sits two blocks from a tier-II datacenter that was venting 1.4 MW of waste heat into the sky every hour.

We did not sell them anything. We laid pipe. Over six weeks a crew of four tapped the datacenter's rejection loop, routed insulated line under Elm Street, and dropped a 60-gallon buffer tank in each basement. The gas lines stayed as backup. Nobody has lit them in 11 months.
